Dogfish Head Burton Baton Beer Review

The Burton Baton from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, a Double IPA that is a blend of an English-style Old Ale and an Imperial IPA that is brewed and fermented separately in stainless steel tanks before being brought together and blended in large oak tanks. This final result is an ale that comes in with a 10% ABV and an IBU level sitting at 70. This all being said, I found this beer to be a delightful brew with some great smoothness. It played more like a Strong Ale for me though than an IPA; there was a decent amount of maltiness and the bitterness seemed to be more on the initial than the finish. There was a nice feel of the oakiness as well as vanilla characteristic from the barreling. There was some booziness that did arise in the aroma as well as the flavor, but it was nothing off-putting. Definitely, one that I would recommend for anyone that enjoys a nice barreled beer, and if you have had it then let me know by leaving a comment. Check out the video to see and hear more of my thoughts on this one.

Harpoon UFO White Ale Beer Review

The UFO White Ale brewed with the Harpoon Brewery is a beer done in the Belgian Witbier style. It carries an ABV of 4.8% and my look at this one had me come across some of the common characteristics often found in the style. There was a nice presence of spice with a good feeling of clove coming through. The orange was there and not overdone, although the beer did almost teeter on a shandy-styled beer for me. There was a nice clean crispness with the beer, and overall it was light, smooth and refreshing and pretty much went down easy. No complaints from me on this one check out the video to see and hear more of my thoughts. And if you have had it before, then leave a comment to let me know what you thought of this one.

Talking Beer and GABF Gold With MadTree Brewing

I recently had the chance to catch up with Mike Stuart from MadTree Brewing and have a sit down to discuss their winning of a gold medal at the 2018 Great American Beer Festival for their Happy Amber Ale. We also got into some other various topics as well and had a good time overall. Check out the video to see all that we discussed earlier this week.

Elysian Brewing Superfuzz Beer Review

Superfuzz is a Blood Orange Pale Ale from Elysian Brewing that is a summer seasonal with an ABV of 6.4% that brings together the flavors of blood orange and northwest hops. I ended up grabbing this one for a make my own six-pack, and have to say that I wasn’t disappointed. A good orange fruity presence was there with the beer, along with a nice feel of the hops. The beer went down smooth without much scratchiness on the finish. A good dry texture of the beer was there as expected, as well as good flavor and aroma overall. Check out the video to see and hear more of my thought s on this one, and if you have had it before then let me know what you thought by leaving a comment.

MadTree Brewing & Lyft Ridesharing Partner To Provide Responsible Ride Home

Partnership provides a discounted ride home when beer drinkers visit the Taproom

CINCINNATI (October 5, 2018) – MadTree Brewing Company, one of Cincinnati’s most popular breweries and maker of the beer named Lift, has partnered with Lyft, the fastest growing rideshare company in the U.S., to make sure craft beer drinkers have a responsible way to get home after a night of drinking. From Thursday through Sunday during the month of October, customers at the MadTree Taproom who take a Lyft ride to there will receive a coupon code for 50% off their ride home (up to $5) when they show their Lyft receipt to a bartender.

“Visiting the Taproom for a fresh pint of Lift, or two, is always a great night out and we want to provide a responsible, easy, on-demand way to get home,” said Chris Stokley, MadTree Brewing Taproom GM. “Plus, we get some extra cars off the road and provide an opportunity for local drivers in the community to earn.”

“We are excited to partner with one of Cincinnati’s favorite breweries and help passengers get a reliable and affordable ride to and from MadTree Brewing Company,” said Demetrius Thomas, Lyft Cincinnati Market Manager. “With the partnership, people can enjoy a Lift and know that Lyft can provide a responsible ride home afterward.”

Lift, a light, crisp, and refreshing German Kölsch-style beer has long been one MadTree’s best-selling beers and is the beer for all occasions -- from hanging out with friends by the campfire to lounging by the pool. Beer drinkers have long considered the name Lift synonymous with using the ridesharing service Lyft.
