MadTree Brewing Citra High Beer Review

Citra High from MadTree Brewing located here where I am in the Cincinnati, Ohio area is a limited release Imperial IPA that comes in at a nice 9.5% ABV and 120 IBU. Hoppy, tropical and citrusy notes come together well against the maltiness of the beer which provides a nicer than expected smooth sweet appeal. There is some dryness as expected with an Imperial or IPA style in general, but not overly done and just works for this beer. Some booziness does come through, but there is nothing off-putting about it. This beer is always one I enjoy looking forward too and would definitely recommend for any Imperial IPA fans, 4.5 out of 5 from me on the MadTree Citra High. Old Nation Brewing Full Earth Beer Review

Full Earth from Old Nation Brewing located in Michigan is an Imperial New England IPA that comes in at 9.1% ABV and 50 IBU. My opinion on this one is that this brew is a highly solid one. There are many good things going on with this layered beer that I did enjoy. From the solid haziness of the beer along with its nice tropical and citrusy feel from the hops to the creamy like smoothness of the texture, this beer just delivers on various levels. It is definitely one worth a try for any NE IPA fan, 4.5 out of 5 for me on this one. Check out my video to hear and see more.

Sierra Nevada BFD Beer For Drinking Beer Review

BFD or Beer For Drinking from Sierra Nevada Brewing is a 4.8% ABV and 33 IBU Hoppy Blonde Ale as they describe it. Why it is called this name though I have no idea, because wouldn’t all beer just simply “be for drinking,” although I believe their goal is for one to drink it and not to wait over any period. In a way, they are saying to drink fresh. Anyway, this beer, which they also call causally crushable, did prove to be decent enough for me when trying. It was light, clean, and smooth with a nice presence of hops more so like that of a spruce or piney feel. There was some sweetness to it and I felt like it was something of an entry craft beer for one who may usually drink macros. Overall, it was decent enough that I gave it 3 out of 5. Abita Bourbon Street Honey Pale Ale Beer Review

The Bourbon Street Honey Pale Ale from Abita Brewing Company, a 9.5% ABV 21 IBU American Pale Ale brewed with honey and aged in small batch bourbon barrels. I found this one to be a bit smooth and full in body, with a good amount of sweetness from the honey. The booziness came through from the additional use of the bourbon barrels, but with it, there seemed to be taking away of some other characteristics that are usually expected from an American Pale Ale questioning if all styles really need to barrel-aged. There was also a lack of vanilla hints, which are usually found in a barrel-aged beer, but overall the beer was solid enough for me that I gave it 3.5 out of 5. Tecate Light Beer Review From Cancún - Final One Of Series

Tecate Light was the last of my beers to try at the hotel before leaving Cancun and of all of them; it was the one that I liked the least. I found it to be okay as a lighter type beer and it did have a refreshing quality for the weather, but the adjunct flavor just came through more in this one. Not only did I feel somewhat of corn in the taste, there was also a syrupy texture for me in the beer along with more sweetness than I prefer. This all being said, I gave this beer 2.25 out of 5 for me, and check out the video if you would like to hear and see more of my thoughts on this one.

Bohemia Clásica Beer Review From Cancún

Bohemia Clásica is a 4.8% ABV North American Adjunct Pilsner Lager that I had a chance to enjoy while in Mexico and is now the subject of my latest review there. Overall, this one ended up being my favorite from the beers that I tried. It was a nice light beer with a decent body, which for me went down smooth with a nice malty sweetness. This along with the nice clean feel of the beer and the floral and slightly piney aroma of the hops made it stand out a little more. This was 3 out of 5 for me on this one. Check out my video to hear and see more.
