Getting My Beer On Rivertown Pineapple Whip Beer Review

Brewed with milk sugar for creaminess, Pineapple Whip from Rivertown Brewery & Barrel House is a Nitro Berliner Style Sour Ale that carries a 5% ABV along and is a limited edition from the brewery making it a one-time brew from the brewery. For me, this one did have the sweetness expected although the artificialness of the added flavor was easy to distinguish. It was light and creamy due to the nitro effect, as well as fruity but just too soft for me. There was the sour feel to be expected, and on a warm day, it can have its place especially with the smoothness that it did provide. Getting My Beer On Short's Space Rock Beer Review

Space Rock from Short’s Brewing Company located in Michigan is an American Pale Ale that comes in at 5% ABV and 55 IBU, unlike the 72 mentioned on Untappd which goes to my point of their inaccuracies at times. Nonetheless, this is one that I had wanted to try for a good amount of time, and just recently, it was made available to me through our distribution. For me best described, I found this to be a somewhat decent pale ale that carried the expected characteristics that one expects of the style. It was hoppy, dry, slightly bitter and somewhat flavorful with tones of orange and grapefruit. It did play thinner than expected so that did catch me by surprise, but it is a lighter bodied pale ale. For me, it was worth a try, but it just did not do a lot to stand out. Getting My Beer On Avery Liliko'i Kepolo Beer Review

Liliko’i Kepolo from Avery Brewing, a 5.4% ABV Witbier that brings together some of the expected spicy notes of this style and places on it a nice fruity twist highlighted in the aroma and the taste. For me, I have enjoyed this previously on draft and decided to check it out in the can, which still provided a nice delight of this beer. There are qualities of tart, fruitiness, tropical, sweet, sour and even astringency and some acidity involved with this one. I guess I can say there are many things happening with this one, but all good from my opinion. Now an all year offering, this beer is a nice one to try for sure if the aforementioned qualities appeal to you, and you like a nice fruity and somewhat spice note beer. Getting My Beer On Dogfish Head Dragons & YumYums

Dragons & YumYums from Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is an American Pale Ale that done with the collaboration of the music group, The Flaming Lips, is a tart American Pale Ale brewed with dragon fruit, yumberry, passionfruit, pear juice and black carrot juice. Now, I know what you are thinking…Is this something that was dreamt up out of Game of Thrones or Lord of The Rings. Honestly, I could not tell you, but I can tell you that this 6.5%ABV and 25 IBU Ale is something different.

There should have been a lot going on with this beer from the ingredients used, but for me, in the end, I almost feel like maybe there was too much. While the beer did offer a nice tart and refreshing quality, the pear did not seem to be there as much. In addition, the duration of the flavor was shorter lived than expected, which I expected would be longer considering said ingredients. It does still have some fruitiness going for it though, and considering the ABV it is a nice light-bodied beer making it not so bad for summer. There is also some of the piney tone often affiliated with pale ales, and the finish is nice and crisp. However, in the end, is it a decent enough beer but is it worth the cost and pick-up, well I will leave that up to you. Check out the video to see and hear more of my thoughts on this one.

Mile Wide Brewing Montage From Beer Tasting At DEP's

I was able to recently attend a beer tasting at DEP's Fine Wine and Spirits with Mile Wide Beer Company based out of Louisville, Kentucky. Here is a look at some of the beers that we had except one which was on tap. It was a fun night indeed and looking forward to drinking more of their brews.
