Ohio Breweries Set New State Record at Great American Beer Festival

DENVER – Ohio has once again proven itself as a beer destination and has the hardware to prove it. Eleven of Ohio's independent craft breweries brought home a combined 21 medals at the prestigious  Great American Beer Festival  competition. Ohio's best showing at the annual event was in 2023, when 12 breweries combined for 19 awards. Held annually, more than 1,550 breweries from across the country submitted 8,300 of their best beers in hopes of earning national recognition. Fat Head's Brewery  earned a Brewery of the Year award in the 15,001-100,000 barrel division, bringing home five medals — two gold, one silver and two bronze — adding to their impressive medal count from the Great American Beer Festival. Since 2009, the Middleburg Heights brewery has won a whopping 35 medals at the annual competition. SAN ANTONIO, April 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Pabst Brewing Company (Pabst) announced today the launch of its new light lager: Pabst Light. Rolling out nationwide this April, Pabst Light delivers the quality and affordability consumers have come to expect from the Pabst name.

With just 96 calories, 3.5g of carbs, and 4.2% ABV, Pabst Light offers everything you'd want in a light beer—without sacrificing flavor or personality. This new brew is crafted with premium hops and grains, resulting in a crisp, refreshing taste worthy of the Blue Ribbon.

Pabst Light's packaging blends retro inspiration with a modern, clean design. It's made to appeal to today's light beer drinkers while still giving a nod to Pabst's iconic brewing history. Pabst Light offers something different from the mainstream, with the bold energy the blue ribbon badge represents. The brand will be widely available in 12 oz can and 16 oz can multipacks as well as individual 25 oz cans.
