Platform Beer Torrential Downpour Hazy IPA Beer Review

Torrential Downpour is a seasonal Hazy IPA from PlatformBeer initially based out of Cleveland, Ohio. 7.1% ABV and 34 IBU highlight this ale which is a Hazy IPA brewed with lactose sugar to provide a creamy and smooth mouthfeel which is coupled by the use of Citra and El Dorado Hops, as well as the use of strawberry puree to give it a fruit forward kick.

Personally, I found this beer to have a nice flavor to it and I was able to detect the strawberry notes and have to admit the overall creaminess was nice on this one. Juicy, fruity and smooth this one overall provided a nice experience. Other notes in the aroma and flavor that I came across to me were pineapple, orange, and grapefruit, which is not too surprising for this style. And. there was a good amount of bitterness and dryness that matched up well. For me, this beer was definitely worth the try and 4 out of 5 for my enjoyment. Golden Road Pico To Mexico Beer Review

Pico To Mexico from Golden Road Brewing is a 4.8% Lager highlighted by the ingredients of lime, cucumber and a hint of a habanero. In other words, a refreshing lager with a kick, and I think this ale did offer just that. Although the IBU level is only at 18, so bitterness is at a low. I found the beer to be light and clean with subtle flavors, and have a nice feel of subtle heat along with somewhat of a saltiness in the taste. There was also a little of what I would describe as a funkiness which most likely was from the yeast. Despite this, it was decent enough overall to make it an okay beer. Rhinegeist Squirrel Nut Brown Ale Beer Review

Squirrel is one of the seasonals from Rhinegeist here in Cincinnati, which is another one that I am just getting around to uploading. It is a Nut Brown Ale that comes in at a light and sessionable ABV level of 4.8% and milder IBU of 22. Four malts and two hops come together in this ale that I found to have a nice duration and flavor, but was just thinner than I usually prefer. There was a decent touch of chocolate and coffee with a touch of burnt coffee-like bitterness. The nuttiness was also in play although I also thought that it was less than expected. Beer Unboxing Courtesy of Todd - Let's Take A Look

It is always good to have friends and shout out to my friend Todd who came through with some beer mail from Indiana. For a beer fan, getting beer mail is like Christmas for an adult, and you know that you are not getting a sweater or some other non-needed thing, lol. Watch the video to see what I find in the box.

MadTree Brewing Galaxy High Beer Review

So here is a look at one that I looked at a while back but never uploaded, imagine that? So many beers and so little time, and Galaxy High is a limited release from MadTree Brewing that comes out once a year in 4-packs and on draft. This beer does bring some bitterness at 120 IBU and at 9.5% ABV, I found it to drink somewhat easy and carry a nice smoothness to it despite the bitterness mentioned. Tropical, citrusy, hoppy, and sweet, this one delivered on all expectations. Check out the video to see and hear more on this one.

Old Nation Greenstone DDH APA Beer Review

The Greenstone DDH APA is yet one more beer that I was able to tray and taste from Old Nation Brewing, and again I was not disappointed. Citrusy and tropical in both the aroma and taste, this juicy double dry-hopped American Pale Ale was also creamy in its texture, which just added to its smoothness. It is a Pale Ale so you do get some bitterness but not overly hoppy at 40 IBU and easily drinkable at 5.5% ABV. If you ever near this brewery in Williamston, Michigan, then do yourself a favor and make this a visit on your trip. I give this one 4.25 out of 5.
