Southern Tier Harvest Ale - Beer Review #478

This is my look at the Harvest Ale from Southern Tier Brewing, which happens to be a Late Summer – Early Autumn release each year. The beer itself is an English style Extra Special Bitter (ESB) and carries an ABV of 6.7%. This is a beer that gets better as it warms, in fact the preferred serving temperature is 45 to 50 degrees and it’s recommended to be served in a pint glass or a mug.

My thoughts on the beer can be found on the video review but overall, I found this beer to be rather pleasing in taste and flavor and to be good overall. It does resemble fall in the glass.

Rogue Ales Mocha Porter - Beer Review #477

The Mocha Porter from Rogue Ales is an American Porter that comes in with an ABV of 5.3% and IBU level of 54. The beer itself provides a nice complexity as Rogue used 12 ingredients for the recipe which includes 8 malts and 2 Hops along with their identifiable Pacman Yeast and Free Range Coastal Water.

My thoughts on this beer in more detail can be seen in the video review, but as far as an overall summary I will say that that beer delivers a good roasted taste along with a creamy texture that any mocha lover should enjoy.

New Belgium Hof Ten Dormaal - Beer Review #476

New Belgium Hof Ten Dormal is part of the Lips of Faith Series from the Fort Collins, Colorado brewer and is a collaboration beer with Brouwerij Hof Ten Dormal which is located in Belgium. This Golden Ale comes inwith a 7% ABV and 20 IBU, and blends together Mosaic hops along with Saaz hops. Other ingredients also include malted sunflower seeds, spelt and carrot herbs.

My Overall Summary: Floral, citrusy and a little spicy on the nose and taste, but it does have a refreshing quality although the carbonation is a little ramped.

Lil' B Evil Twin Brewing Co. - Beer Review #475

In this beer review I discuss Lil’ B from Evil Twin Brewing which is an Imperial Porter that comes in at 11.5% ABV and is brewed at Two Roads Brewing Company located in Connecticut. Dark in color and capped by a tan head, the Lil’ B is a complex beer that has nothing little about it. Watch the video and catch my thoughts on this beer.

Beer Reviews * Evil Twin Soft DK *

Ha Ha, so here I am taking a look at the Soft DK or “Soft Dookie” from Evil Twin Brewing. You can decide on which you prefer for the name, but this Imperial Stout comes in at an ABV of 10.4%. Let’s get after it and see how it compares.

Commercial Description:

This stout looks like soft dookie and some will say it smells and tastes like it too. If you like a thick, creamy and utterly vanillalicious stout you’ll like this one. If you don’t, get yourself something else instead.

Style: Imperial Stout

Brewed: Two Roads Brewing Co, CT

ABV: 10.4
