Beer Reviews * Adelbert's Contemplating Waterloo *

My journey continues through the beers from Adelbert’s Brewery
and this time it is Contemplating Waterloo that I will be examining. This beer
stands as a special release ale, as it involves the use of the brewery’s Saison
titled Philosophizer being fermented in gin barrels. The final result is the creation
of a beer that comes out at a 9.1% ABV. Let’s see how it compares.

Commercial Description:

A complex array of lavender, juniper and oak from the barrel balanced with the
Philosophizer to create a smooth, warming ale. Pair this ale with chicken
alfredo, veal scaloppini and strawberry cheesecake.

Beer Reviews * Adelbert's Tripel B *

My journey continues through the beers from Adelbert’s
Brewery and this time it is Tripel B that I will be examining. This Belgian
Tripel comes in with an ABV of 9.3% and I am looking forward to seeing what it
offers. Let’s see how it compares.

Commercial Description:

This complex, straw-colored ale has clove and pear aromas. A marriage of spicy and
fruity flavors help perfectly balance its elegant malt profile. Pair with rich
foods like steaks, roasts, earthy cheeses, and cheese cake
.

Beer Review: DuClaw Dirty Little Freak

DuClaw Brewing out of Baltimore, Maryland, and their Dirty
Little Freak is the beer that I am checking out here. How do they describe this
beer? Coconut Caramel Chocolate Brown Ale to start and that’s enough to peak my
interest. Let’s see how it compares.

Commercial Description:

Dirty Little Freak Coconut Caramel Chocolate Brown Ale, first brewed in 2014, takes
the traditional American Brown Ale and gives it a sensual new twist – Coconut!
This medium-bodied, 5.8% abv brown ale is a feast for the senses from its
dominant blend of warm, roasted malt, coconut, caramel, and chocolate flavors
barely restrained by a gentle hop bite, to its tantalizingly satisfying finish.
But if you submit to our Dirty Little Freak, be warned: there is no safe word.

Beer Review: Atwater Decadent Dark Chocolate Ale

Who doesn’t like chocolate? I know I do, and the fact that
it is an integral part of any beer is that much better. And that’s what seems
to be the case with the Decadent Dark Chocolate Ale from Atwater Brewery out of
Detroit, Michigan. This beer is a 5% ABV Dark Ale that is highlighted by the
use of three different chocolates. Let’s see how it compares.

Commercial Description:

Holding
true to the Northern English tradition, the Decadent Dark Chocolate Ale at its
foundation has a nutty profile with a round mouth feel. Added is a Chocolate
Extract consisting of three blended chocolates of varied depth.

Beer Review: Samuel Adams Winter Lager

One of my beer runs brought me across this one from Samuel Adams. The Winter Lager comes in at a 5.6% ABV and 22 IBU, so it can be expected to be more of a malty pleasantry. It’s noted to have a nice mix of flavors, so let’s see how it compares.
