GoTab Adds More Prestigious Craft Breweries to Operators Portfolio

ARLINGTON, Va., May 4, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Next-generation restaurant commerce platform GoTab further expands its presence across the craft beer industry with the addition of Other Half Brewing Company (Philadelphia, PA), Resident Culture Brewing Company (Charlotte, NC), Bier Station (Kansas City, MO) and Maui Brewing Company (Hawaii). The craft breweries join an impressive and diverse portfolio of established operators across the U.S., from Evil Genius Beer Company, Hop Lot Brewing Company, Altstadt Brewery, Stone Brewing, Ballast Point Brewing, Arts Brewing District Company, Lawless Brewing Company, Broxton Brewery, and many more.

With deep roots in the beer world, some of GoTab's key features were incubated at Virginia-based microbrewery, Caboose Brewing Co., co-founded by GoTab CEO Tim McLaughlin. Started as a contactless ordering payment web service in 2016, GoTab deployed QR code ordering capabilities before the pandemic to help breweries eliminate long lines and improve service at crowded bars, operate large spaces with limited staff, turn tables faster, raise check averages, and ultimately raise revenue.

At Resident Culture Brewing Company, the team recently adopted the GoTab POS at its new South End location, streamlining the ordering process and empowering guests to place their food and drink orders and pay via their own mobile device whenever they want. The result was a 15% increase in the average tab, prompting Resident Culture to implement GoTab at their original Plaza Midwood location immediately. "Since we've been using GoTab at our South End location, we can tell sales are increasing just by virtue of it being easier to order a drink," said Resident Culture Co-Founder Philip McLamb . "It's very clear to us that if we didn't have the QR code ordering capability and didn't have the logistics around getting food and drinks to people's tables, it would be physically impossible to handle the volume we are doing. For our customers, it's a light bulb moment when they realize: wait, I can order a drink, have it brought to me, and close my tab whenever I want to," he added.

Resident Culture also takes advantage of GoTab's in-depth sales tracking, which allows breweries to track and compare sales in specific areas at any specific time of the day. GoTab also worked closely with Resident Culture to learn and understand each location's workflow in order to customize the layout of their GoTab POS.

In Hawaii and with four locations spread out across Maui and Oahu, Maui Brewing Co. turned to GoTab to re-imagine its operations throughout the pandemic. "When we looked at our operating environment, we recognized technology would have to play a huge role in our new operational model," said Maui Brewing Co. General Manager and Partner Tony Ren. Having tried out various heritage POS models, they realized that a cloud-based system like GoTab provided the flexibility they needed to seamlessly transition from a table-service model to a full counter-service model. GoTab's exceptional customer service and willingness to adapt to the brewery's needs sealed the deal. "A lot of other vendors just said, 'Well, this is our platform and what we can offer for a majority of our clients, so you either fit into this box or you don't,'" said Ren. "We really liked that GoTab had the ability to grow with us, to change and bend themselves to service our needs and grow with us."

Currently, Maui Brewing is using GoTab at its Kihei location, the brewery's flagship location on Maui. They plan to fully implement it at its Oahu restaurant and taprooms in Waikiki and Kailua starting in early May. "What we have seen so far is an increase in guest satisfaction," says Ren. "The fact that someone can get a drink at their table without waiting in line every time has been a huge bonus. It has certainly helped us re-establish ourselves as the community brewery we have always been."

GoTab was designed to help breweries deliver the highest quality guest experience, giving guests the freedom and independence to choose how they want to order and pay. Its online ordering system significantly lowers labor costs to help improve profitability. Innovative menu management features allow breweries to customize and update digital menu displays in real time, and support full e-commerce capabilities. Guests browse branded, customized beer menus and submit orders from their device, with no mobile app downloads required. For breweries operating with food trucks, GoTab's cashless system makes it easy for them to serve guests safely and efficiently. Find out more about GoTab's capabilities for breweries, check out the latest case studies to hear directly from craft brewers, or join us at booth #342 during the Craft Brewers Conference.

The guest never has to download a mobile app or create a password. Operators get flexible features that can be rapidly applied to access new revenue streams via dine-in, take-out and delivery, ghost kitchens, retail groceries, and more. Mill Street Brewery Partners with Canadian Drag Queen, Lemon, to Release Tea Time Lemon Wheat in Support of Rainbow Railroad

In celebration of this launch and Pride month, the brand donated $20,000 to Rainbow Railroad and supporting its mission to help LGBTQI+ individuals access life, free from persecution

TORONTO, May 11, 2022 /CNW/ - For the second year in a row, Mill Street Brewery is partnering with Canadian Drag Queen, Lemon, to release its limited-edition beer Tea Time Lemon Wheat, in support of Pride monthIn celebration of this launch and pride month, the brand donated $20,000 to Rainbow Railroad – an organization that helps LGBTQI+ individuals escape violence and persecution.

"Working with Mill Street Brewery again to release not only a delicious beer, but one made with purpose that specifically supports such an important cause, is incredibly special to me," said Lemon, Canadian Drag Queen. "This year, I also had the honour of sitting down with two sisters who received support from Rainbow Railroad to seek safety in Canada, and their first-hand experience gave me a greater perspective on the profound impact that Rainbow Railroad provides to members of the LGBTQI+ community."

Captured in an emotional and raw two-minute video, Lemon sat down with Kena and Sanchia, who share the retelling of their journey from the Caribbean to Canada, with support from Rainbow Railroad. The sisters' experience is just one of more than 8,400 personal stories of persecution that Rainbow Railroad received in 2021 as a global not-for-profit organization.

"With Pride month around the corner, we're thrilled to be once again partnering with Mill Street Brewery and Toronto drag icon, Lemon, as their support for our organization extends beyond just a financial contribution," said Dane Bland, Rainbow Railroad Director of Development and Communications. "The added awareness our organization receives from brands and public figures – like Mill Street Brewery and Lemon – is instrumental in building new awareness and support of our organization, and its work. Together, it's also an exceptionally easy way for Ontario-based fans of great craft beer to support an amazing cause."

Brewed in the heart of Toronto and inspired by Lemon's effervescent personality, Tea Time Lemon Wheat is a refreshing wheat beer with natural flavour – infused with a blend of decaffeinated Orange Pekoe and Earl Grey teas, and with natural lemon puree – making it the perfect addition to any drag brunch or day out in the sunshine. This limited-edition product is available for purchase at the LCBO, on the Mill Street Brewery e-commerce website, and will be served at the Mill Street Brewpubs in Ottawa and Toronto, while supplies last.

Features of Mill Street Brewery's Tea Time Lemon Wheat include:

  • A pour with a light amber colour that surprises the palate with its sweetness, sublime tea flavour and subtle lemon twist that fades into a tea aftertaste
  • An ABV of 5% and IBU of 22

"Tea Time Lemon Wheat was limited to our Brewpubs last year, so for year two we're proud to be bringing this product to more consumers across Ontario, and in turn raise more awareness and support for Rainbow Railroad," said Emma Barrett, Head of Marketing Mill Street Brewery. "As a brand, we feel it's important to continue to learn how to be an effective ally for the LGBTQI+ community by working with dedicated organizations in this space, who act with purpose to help drive meaningful change."

To celebrate the launch, Mill Street Brewery will be hosting two 'Tea Time Drag Brunch with Lemon' events at the Toronto Brewpub on Saturday, May 21st and Saturday, June 18th, which will feature performances from Lemon and two special guests. One hundred per cent of ticket sales will be donated to Rainbow Railroad and guests can cheers with a Tea Time Lemon Wheat beer while watching an energetic performance. Gruvi Golden is  officially the best non-alcoholic beer in the world.

Known as "the Olympics of Beer," the World Beer Cup is the most prestigious beer competition in the world, held in conjunction with the Craft Brewers Conference® & BrewExpo America®. Beating out 123 other non-alcoholic beer submissions, Gruvi's non-alcoholic Golden Lager was selected as the best non-alcoholic beer on the market by a panel of judges from around the world. Each judge on the panel is considered a leader in the craft beer industry and undergoes an intensive vetting process prior to the competition.

"When industry professionals acknowledge the excellence in products from around the market, the beer drinker can be sure that those brands are the finest available," says Chris Swersey, World Beer Cup competition director.

Light, crisp, and perfectly balanced in terms of flavor, the Golden Lager is vegan and gluten-reduced (less than 20 PPM) with a robust yet palatable flavor profile that's developed during a 8+ week fermentation process. The mildly complex flavor profile is made up of a combination of natural ingredients, including honey, citrus, and Mosaic hops, which lend a pleasant bitterness to the brew, while maintaining its clean finish. With less than 0.5% ABV, 0 grams of sugar and just 58 calories per serving, this American favorite is ideal for all day drinking.

"What makes this beer so special is its lengthy and unique brewing process" says Niki Sawni, Co-Founder of Gruvi. "From grain to glass, this beer takes almost 8 weeks and is one of the only craft non-alcoholic beers that go through a full lagering. After the beer has finished lagering, the alcohol is gently removed and a final fermentation occurs to bring back all the great aroma and flavors."

Gruvi launched in 2019 with funding from friends and family, and was one of the first non-alcoholic beverage brands to exist in the space. Gruvi continues to be a leader in the industry, and has seen an escalated growth of over 400% over the last 12 months.
