FIRST LOOK: Ohio Pint Day 2021 Glass Art

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Craft Brewers Association will hold the second annual Ohio Pint Day on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021. More than 125 breweries across the state will offer this year's limited edition, collectible pint glass in their taprooms to celebrate the occasion and raise funds for their industry trade association.

The pandemic-caused cancellation of four beer festival events in 2020 and 2021, forced the association to seek alternative ways to raise funds in support of their mission. The inaugural Ohio Pint Day campaign held last October proved to be a great success for both the association and its member breweries. Demand for the collectible Ohio Pint Day glass was so high that nearly all 112 participating breweries sold out on the day of the event, a total of nearly 11,000 glasses.

For this year's campaign, the Ohio Craft Brewers Association commissioned Columbus artist Jessica Greving to design the Ohio Pint Day glass after seeing the animal-focused can designs she had produced for Homestead Beer Company.

“This group of beer drinking, fun-loving animals is all about that feeling you get when you’re people-watching and suddenly see something cool or funny.” Greving explains in her artist’s statement. “Finding something new each time you look at an image is a feeling I strive for! I hope this glass will be a part of many new memories made with family and friends now that we’re finally starting to get back to normalcy in 2021.”

The Ohio Craft Brewers Association will offer a bonus stamp on the Ohio On Tap brewery passport app for people who purchase an Ohio Pint Day glass. Users will be able to submit selfies with their glass from Sept. 28 through Oct. 31 to receive the stamp.

Tuesday, Sept. 28 was chosen as the date for the 2021 Ohio Pint Day as it coincides with National Drink Beer Day, marking the final week of traditional Oktoberfest celebrations and serving as a reminder to support local, independently-owned breweries.

On Ohio Pint Day, craft beer fans can expect to find many different offers from participating breweries. Some breweries may sell the glass filled with the customer’s choice of beer, others may include the glass with a crowler or growler purchase to go, still others may sell the glass individually.

“Ohio Pint Day was so popular with craft beer fans that our breweries couldn't wait to do it again,” said Ohio Craft Brewers Association executive director Mary MacDonald. “It has been a blast seeing the 2020 glass pop up on so many social media feeds over the last year. We can't wait for people to have the opportunity to show off this year's glass as well.”

A complete list and map of participating breweries can be found at https://ohiocraftbeer.org/ohiopintday/

Founded in 2007, the Ohio Craft Brewers Association is a nonprofit guild that exists to promote, preserve and unify Ohio’s craft brewing industry. We aspire to be recognized as the industry leader at both state and national levels for preserving the art of making high-quality, unique craft beer; to serve as the unified voice for craft brewers across the state; to advocate on behalf of the Ohio craft beer industry; to contribute to systemic, local community development by driving economic and job growth, while creating experiences that bring people together; to promote safe, responsible enjoyment of Ohio craft beer; and to serve as a beacon for local production and manufacturing through craft beer, resulting in diverse choices for consumers.

Warped Wing Brewing Company To Launch Soda Brand In Bottles

DAYTON, OH (July 14, 2021) –The newly forged Warped Wing Soda Co. will soon be

releasing a non-alcoholic, gluten-free, and caffeine-free root beer. The root beer is made with real cane sugar and will be available in 6pk 12oz bottles. The soda will be released to retail partners and will also be available at the Warped Wing Taproom in Dayton and the WarpedW ing Barrel Room & Smokery in Springboro.

“This is an exciting opportunity for us,” said Nick Bowman, VP/Sales & Marketing and Managing Partner at Warped Wing. “We have been testing our housemade root beer as a draught-only offering for a few years with tremendous success and now we have the opportunity to offer it as a bottled option to our valued customers. We have seen a growing demand for a true craft soda and we are proud to be part of this category,” said Bowman.

The launch of the new soda brand will coincide with a partnership with Graeter’s Ice Cream. A special collaborative root beer float has been developed to bring both of these craft brands together and will be exclusively offered at both Warped Wing locations beginning Friday, July 23rd. The Dayton area Graeter’s Ice Cream shops will have bottles of root beer available for carryout as well as a special root beer float package available for delivery the following week. Additional venues for this collaboration are still in development, such as a “Movie Night” inspired float where families can enjoy a night on the lawn at Wright Station across from the Barrel Room & Smokery. More information will be forthcoming as details come together.

The root beer will start hitting the market the week of July 26th and you can find it at your favorite local accounts that carry Warped Wing products.“We also have other flavors in the development stage but we are going all-in on root beer out of the gate,” said Nick Bowman. “We see this eventually becoming a portfolio of sodas to satisfy a wide variety of palates.”

Warped Wing Brewing Co. is a Dayton craft brewery inspired by Ohio’s rich history of innovation and invention. We are committed to carrying that spirit forward by brewing new proprietary beer styles along with original “warped” interpretations.
